Jennifer Bridgman

About Jennifer

Freelance writer Jennifer (Dunn) Bridgman's passion for the written word goes back as far as her memory. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, she was raised in Los Altos—an inland suburb midway between San Francisco and Santa Cruz.

In 2000, Jennifer graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a B.A. in communication and a minor in professional writing. Following graduation, the bright lights and wild nights of the Sunset Strip beckoned. She spent four years in the marketing department of a start-up cable television network in Los Angeles.

In 2005, Jennifer relocated to Northern California. Over the next few years, she held marketing positions in real estate, landscaping and with a San Francisco-based cosmetics brand. From press releases to newsletters, advertising copy to corporate communication, Jennifer’s flair for writing, editing and graphic design made her a valuable team member. She welcomed every opportunity to hone her skills and gain personal enrichment.

Back in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jennifer reconnected with Chris Bridgman, a fellow Los Altos native she'd first met in elementary school. By the fall of 2009, Jennifer and Chris were on top of the world--they were newly wed and newly pregnant with their first child. Just weeks before their son was born, however, Chris suffered a devastating injury that would render him a paraplegic.

In the difficult months that followed, Jennifer and Chris grieved and healed. Her passion for writing became her passage to wellness. She enrolled in a writing class and began dedicating any free time to her craft. The result is a soon-to-be-published memoir, Love Never Fails: One Family's Journey to Overcome Spinal Cord Injury.*

In addition to memoir writing, Jennifer has completed a series of articles on love, disability and parenthood. She is encouraged and inspired to write as often as possible by her husband, Chris, and their three beloved rays of "sonshine," Christopher Lawrence, Hunter Charles and Kellan Edward.
